The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is focusing on land management and development around the country with aims to better manage land and prevent spread out land use.
Over the past year, land use was still extravagant because the master plan of national land management is not finished yet.
Meanwhile, the price of land is continuing to rise, especially land in the city areas.
It’s causing an issue related to land management and use.
The issue was discussed at a meeting on the draft of national land management master plan held in Vientiane on Tuesday.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Mr Bounmy Phouthavong, government officials from the provinces.
The purpose of the meeting was to present research and discuss improvements to the draft national land management master plan, the plan for land use, the plan for land management and other items involved with land use nationwide.
During the event, the participants also discussed and shared comments on the draft national land management master plan to contribute to the draft and solve the remaining issues of land management nationwide.
They also discussed rights for land use, land management, set target for land uses and planned future land uses.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Mr Bounmy Phouthavong said the draft national land management master plan is for setting up area and land types around the country with target to management, protect, development and land use according to techincial and regulation for make the sustainable of land and environment.
Because the master plan of national land management and land use plan is not finished yet so the land is still spread out and the use is still extravagant and forest land and public land is dispersed.
So the government is accelerating to make master plan of national land management for setting up the land management and land use plan.
